ClaudyGod aka Claudette George-Okorie is a California-based, American-born lover of Jesus Christ and Gospel Artiste. ClaudyGod with both Nigerian and Sierraleonian descent has always nursed a passion for music. She spent a good amount of her childhood in Nigeria, where she participated in choral activities in middle and high school. Claudette first gave her life to Jesus Christ in 1996 in Nigeria. She got distracted from her devotion to God while in College and was privileged to rededicate her life back to Jesus in 2000. This most priced occurrence followed shortly after her graduation from the University of Benin in Nigeria. She has since walked very passionately with God. During a session of fellowship with God in Nashville USA in 2003, Claudette heard God say to her “I love your worship.” This she treasured in her heart. These words were so impressionable that she logged this into her existing diary. She would often hear these repeated during times of praise and worship to God in her daily devotion and prayer time but wasn’t very certain of its full implication.
Claudette then felt called to ministry in 2003. As a result of this calling, she obediently relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma (USA) within that same year with the intent to attend a Christian college. This audacious move was going to help her prepare for ministry. As God would have it, Claudette attended the School of Worship of Victory Bible Institute, a bible college affiliated with Victory Christian Center which she had become a member of at the time. Claudette continued to walk closely with the Lord and served in several different capacities in the church including the worship team, home cell groups, children's ministry, and choir.
Several years later, in January of 2018, while living in California, Claudette was divinely motivated to write songs after a time of fasting and praying for the New Year. This move of God led to the unleashing of her debut passion-filled album “Lord of My Heart.” Claudette has always known she has a great purpose and that her purpose is wrapped around loving others. Through these received God-inspired songs, she shares God’s love with a lost and suffering world.
Claudette’s songs come in pop, hip-hop, R&B, folk, rap, and holiday forms of music. She reports that her music is designed to tell of her appreciation of God’s passionate affection for her; the amazing things He has done in her life and the great testimonies she has witnessed in the life of others. Each of Claudette’s songs is grounded in honoring God as well as has its own unique message to her esteemed audience.
“Good-Good God” praises God for His goodness in her life and her thankfulness to Him loving her more than she ever possibly can love Him.
“Your presence” conveys the message that our life is wrapped around God and that we would be nothing if not for His grace and love.
“Nothing like” sings about how God is unique to us in several different ways. She sums it up by saying there’s no one like Him in the entire world.
“Wow God” speaks about how Claudette is amazed at God. God had shown up for her when she had given up and totally turned what seemed like an impossible situation around.
“Show forth” is about wanting to be an exhibit for God after everything He has done to give her a new life and another chance.
She closes out this extended play album with - “Lord of my heart" coined from Psalm 139 and inspired by a ministration of TV Evangelist Marilyn Hickey. She describes this song as her love song to God and His love song to her. The song speaks about how God knew her from her mother’s womb and how she can never get away from His amazing love. Claudette has chosen to surrender willingly to the “Lord of her heart”.
Christmas Single- "Father Christmas"
Inspired by the mighty works of God, His amazing miracles, God's abundant kindness, and His lavishness of love that she had been privileged to observe demonstrated in both her life and for many others. This realization amazingly came full-blown just a couple of weeks to Christmas of 2018. Claudette states, indeed the Lord's been so good to me and even when I haven't felt like I deserved it." About that time, Claudette reports that she heard the Lord say, "take out some time and sit with me and I'll give you a song about me for Christmas, just as I would like it". This experience birth the song "Father Christmas!"
As Claudette reviews the words "I love your worship" in that long kept diary, she is in awe of God's faithfulness.
Claudette has since released two other singles including "It's a new day" (a music video) and "Nwata Nna" (a Nigerian folk song), both premiered in 2019.
